Only three weeks now until Easter so Spring is upon us and Summer will follow quickly. Fortunately many of our clients are aware of this and have also heeded our advice to book their rental cars early. Following the major shortages last summer it is hoped that the situation will not be so severe this year although a higher risk than usual still exists. Rental companies are doing their best to keep up the numbers of cars on their fleets but it is not easy for them. The credit crunch is still hving an effect and most manufacturers are building to order only. Therefore there are no excess cars for the rental companies to acquire at a good rate. Some companies are holding on to their cars longer which is helping. In some cases this may mean that the mileage will be higher than is normally the case and there may be some extra bumps and scratches – make sure that they are listed on your agreement before you drive away - but this is better than walking.
