Bookings and enquiries..
The closer that the summer holidays get the busier we get. A number of recent bookings have been from enquiries and quotes from earlier in the year, or even late last year. People-carriers have been in demand and it is always a good idea to book these early. Confirmed 9-seater MPVs were at Nice and Pisa plus a 7-seater SUV at Orlando (see previous post). A booking for a 6-seater Fiat Multipla for Florence in August was too late as these cars are already sold out – we also had the same result with a Multipla for Rome in August recently. If you want one of these cars they must be booked urgently. Other confirmed cars were Renault Clios in Gerona on the Costa Brava and at Angouleme station in Cognac, a Citroen Berlingo on the Costa Calida and an intermediate car for a one-way from Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco to Los Angeles airport (LAX). A group of golfers chose two Ford Mondeo estates for the South of France and a regular client also opted for a Mondeo at Heathrow. Pending confirmation are economy cars at Murcia and Faro and a compact automatic, also at Murcia.
New enquiries were economy and family cars (Focus/Golf, etc) at Dinard, Angouleme, Faro, Stansted, Almeria, Toulouse and Gerona. More people-carriers for London, Almeria and Brittany. A convertible in Florence and a Mini convertible on Majorca. More unusual requests included a one-way from Stansted airport to Bristol airport, a Berlingo for 7+ weeks in Spain and a Focus/Mondeo type car for Durban in South Africa. An overseas client asked about a one-way from New York to California. These can be arranged and a full-size car wouldn’t be a problem. Finding a convertible in freezing cold New York in January will be more tricky. Finally a UK to Italy international one-way. Again we can arrange this but the £1,200 international one-way fee wasn’t welcome! We have suggested flying to Paris and collecting the car there as the one-way fee from Paris to Italy is considerably less.
