More low-cost routes for Summer 2009…

Times may be hard at the moment but the low-cost airlines are doing their best to make things brighter for 2009. Easyjet have just announced new summer routes from Gatwick to Santorini, Naples, Dubrovnik and Larnaca and from East Midlands to Nice. This is in addition to the recent new route from Gatwick to Copenhagen. More information and booking at www.easyjet.com. Ryanair have also introduced new routes from Gatwick to Alicante, Gerona (or Girona as they spell it) and Dusseldorf (Weeze). An Italian adventure..

Regular clients of carhirewarehouse moved to Italy a couple of years ago although they still book cars with us regularly on their trips back to the UK. Bob and Kerrie bought a farmhouse and vineyard in a village in Piedmont. Their nearby cottage is now available for holiday lettings. Spanish airport charge withdrawn…

In our post of 20th November titles ‘Post-WTM News’ we relayed the news that a number of Spanish car rental companies had announced that they would be implementing a local charge forĀ collecting rental cars at airports. Along with many other UK agents and brokers, we expressed our dismay at this new charge. We also advised that we were unhappy with the current practice of the Spanish companies to introduce more new local charges rather than to increase their pre-paid rates to a viable level.
