An apology for nuisance e-mails…

We are aware that our e-mail addresses are being used for sending out nuisance e-mails – again. This happens periodically although this time it appears to be lasting longer than has been the case previously. Unfortuantely there is nothing that can be done to stop these idiots. Post-WTM news…

As mentioned in our previous post, the World Travel Market took place in London last week. Taking place over four days each November, this is the biggest meeting of the travel industry in the world. We were there again and had our usual mix of planned and unplanned meetings. It is clear that things are uncertain in travel at the moment, perhaps especially in the leisure sector where rising costs for food, fuel and energy have compromised peoples ability to plan for holidays. Outlook unsettled…

The turmoil in world financial markets continues to impact on car hire. Most US rental companies have increased their rates to reflect the big changes in the exchange rate between the US$ and the GB£. Conversely many Spanish companies are offering incredibly low rates in an attempt to attract business over the winter. Rates for Spring and Summer 2009 have been delayed in some cases as rental companies wait for signs of stability in order to avoid having to change rates after issuing them.
