Christmas is coming but the bookings continue. Recent business has included economy and compact cars on the Costa Blanca, a compact car for the French side of Geneva airport and an automatic economy at Faro. This is a 7 week booking and we were able to get a rate below £100 per week – extremely good for an automatic. The battle of who can offer the most new routes has intensified with the following from Ryanair:-
Birmingham to Gerona (Barcelona), Marseilles and Pisa
Edinburgh to Alicante, Bremen, Frankfurt (Hahn), Marseilles and Pisa
Liverpool to Malaga and Nantes
Stansted to Angouleme and Faro
Manchester to Gerona (Barcelona), Bremen, Marseilles and Milan (presumably Bergamo airport)
Newquay to Alicante and Gerona
Angouleme is a completely new destination. Also new are Arad and Constanta in Romania although there are no UK flights to these destinations yet.
In the past few days more new routes have been announced by low-cost airlines. Easyjet have announced Bournemouth to Grenoble, Birmingham to Geneva and Grenoble, Bristol to Innsbruck and Gatwick to Biarritz. They also anticipate more new routes in the coming weeks. New from Ryanair are Cork to Carcassonne and Dublin to Brest, Rodez and Tours.
Easyjet have announced more new routes. These are Bristol to sunny Biarritz (a completely new destination for them from the UK) and also Bristol to Olbia in Sardinia and Split in Croatia. Edinburgh to Nice, Glasgow to Faro and Luton to Pisa are additional departure points to favourite destinations. It may be a quiet time of year but there are still some interesting enquiries. Recent bookings have been economy cars at Stansted, Murcia, La Rochelle, Alicante and Geneva (French side), a Focus for Lanzarote and a 7-seater MPV at Faro. The Vancouver-Seattle car confirmed and there are no extra charges for the one-way routing, even though in this case it is an international one-way. A first was a booking for the new smaller SUV 4×4 Chevrolet Equinox or similar, in the States.
