Calpe harbour, northern Costa Blanca..
Calpe is situated between Benidorm to the south and and Javea to the north. At the foot of the Penon d’Ifach, the huge monolith that dominates this stretch of coastline, is the old port and harbour. There is an air of tranquility and a number of fish restaurants, many with barrows of fresh fish on display outside. At least one will serve you a glass of Sangria whilst persuading you that his restaurant is the best. Don’t be persuaded until you have negotiated some free wine.
